Sigma Alpha Pi

Sigma Alpha Pi of the National Honor Society for Leadership and Success is a leadership honor society (not a fraternity/sorority) available to a limited number of students on campus. Students have earned this honor because of their academic accomplishment and leadership potential. Their candidacy for the Society is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction.  Since the Jefferson Community College chapter’s founding in 2013, we have had a total of 500 members join the Society on our campus. Our FAQs provide information about Jefferson’s Sigma Alpha Pi membership program taking place during this current 2016-2017 academic year.

Society membership provides you with the professional leadership training needed to gain a competitive edge in the employment market. In a national survey, 92% of Society members transitioning into careers landed the job of their choice upon graduating, and 86% attributed their success to the Society’s program. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity, as Society members are nearly four times more likely than other students to land the job of their choice. (National survey results compared to 24 percent of U.S. college graduates as reported in the New York Times.)

The National Society of Leadership and Success is one of the largest college leadership honor societies in the United States with hundreds of chapters. Membership benefits include:

  • lifetime access to benefits including over $150,000 annually in awards and scholarships
  • leadership certification (a valuable asset on your resume),
  • exclusive events on campus that provide opportunities to develop leadership skills and gain experience setting and achieving goals),
  • employer recruitment
  • an exclusive online job bank
  • networking with other top students on campus
  • discounts that can save you hundreds of dollars on computers, textbooks, grad school prep courses, and car insurance.

At your induction ceremony, you will take your place among the top student leaders on campus and will have the right to list your Society affiliation on all statements of personal accomplishment, including your resume. In addition, all inducted members receive National Leadership Certification and personalized letters of recommendation to submit to all prospective employers.

In a national survey of Society members:

• 98% indicated the Society has made it more likely they will achieve their life goals

• 95% indicated the Society has made them more likely to land the job of their choice

• 95% indicated they would recommend the Society to their peers

The formal induction process is preceded by your participation in networking team meetings, learning from celebrities and best-selling authors, and attending a leadership seminar. As an organization dedicated to building leaders who make a better world, the Society is a community where like-minded, success oriented individuals come together to learn from and support one another. The Society was founded on the core belief that we accomplish more together than we would achieve alone.
