Whether you cannot make it to campus for training, or you are looking for something specific, our partners offer an incredible variety of training, some of which that lead to certifications. Small Business Development Center's Online Entrepreneurial Course

This is a 14-week online training with seven learning modules. The information throughout the course guides each entrepreneur toward the development of sound business practices and, in turn, a more profitable and successful venture. Video presentations by area business professionals on business related topics.

Project Management Professional Certification via TheCourse™

TheCourse™, from the Project Management Institute (PMI), teaches the core competencies of project management and prepares individuals to become certified Project Management Professionals. It covers the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), the Project Management Professional (PMP) code of ethics and professional conduct, and a review of general management topics that are in the PMP examination. Project management is an evolving profession and many employers are requiring their project managers to be certified. The online edition of TheCourse™ is the curriculum of choice of an increasing number of colleges and universities across the United States. TheCourse™ is Java/browser-driven, multi-media, and consists of 650 web pages with voice plus some four dozen related linked papers. It can be started at any time and is self-paced. Sport Nutrition Specialist Advanced Certification Online

This self-paced online certificate course is designed for career-oriented professionals looking to expand their knowledge and skills in a primary domain of the personal trainer profession. This advanced program is available to any NCCA-certified professional in good standing, individuals holding a bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field, or individuals holding a REPs credential, level 3 or higher. The program takes an in-depth look at nutritional science and its application to athletic performance. The latest evidence-based information is presented in a building block model affording fitness professionals the opportunity to develop the competencies necessary of a skilled practitioner, allowing them to expand their service offerings. Certified Personal Trainer Prep Course Online

This self-paced online course will prepare you for the NCCA accredited, nationally recognized Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Exam provided by the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) Board for Certification. The course bridges the gap between exercise science related coursework and the practical application skills required for personal training. The registration fee includes a hard copy textbook and access to the NCSF e-learning platform which provides a digital copy of the textbook, course lesson notes, video lectures, and 2 practice exams. This is especially important for college students who on campus and in real life will have more financial choices and opportunities to be made than any generation before. NEFE (The National Endowment for Financial Education) is responding to this challenge by offering to college students and recent graduates this website that contains comprehensive, non-commercial information to help their financial decisions be informed ones.


UGotClass online certificates and courses are provided by the Learning Resources Network (LERN), the largest continuing education association in the world, serving more than 1,000 colleges, universities and schools.  A nonprofit education organization, LERN works with education institutions to serve the needs of communities all over the country. Our online courses are taught by leading practitioners and teachers, with audio presentations from the teacher and interaction with other participants and the teacher. We offer certificates, CEUs, ILUs, and some courses even have optional graduate credit. Courses focus on “Skills for the 21st Century” ©

Workshop Registration Information

Registration for the pre-certification workshops above are through the Continuing Education Division(Room E-100 of the Extended Learning Center, 315-786-2233). Early registration is recommended - workshops require a minimum number of participants in order to run. If a workshop is canceled due to insufficient enrollment you will be notified 5-days prior to the start of the workshop and a refund will be issued.

Payment is required at the time of registration. We accept credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover), personal checks and cash. Refunds will not be issued after the start of the workshop.

Member Discounts

JCC Alumni who are active members are eligible for a 10% discount off any non-credit workshop. Members of AUSA, CSEA, Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Watertown Jaycees are entitled to a $5 discount off any non-credit workshop, proof of membership is required. *Workshops being offered in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Ed2Go, PMI, or any pre-Certification programs are not eligible for any discounts.
