JCC to hold Winery Mgt. Information Session

Anyone interested in learning more about career opportunities and academic pathways leading to the wine industry should attend the information session at Jefferson Community College (JCC) on Wednesday, June 5 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 6-218, Jules Center (Building 6).

Currently, seven wineries operate in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties and that number is expected to double in the next five years. Winery owners report that the overwhelming number of jobs at any winery is in sales and marketing.

Jefferson offers a certificate program in Winery Management and Marketing as well as an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Hospitality and Tourism with a Winery Management and Marketing concentration. JCC’s certificate program can be completed in one year of study, or longer. College credits earned in JCC’s winery management and marketing certificate program will transfer to JCC’s degree program in Hospitality and Tourism. Graduates of Jefferson’s A.A.S. degree program will gain real-world experience in the winery field and make job/career contacts.

JCC’s information session on June 5 will provide an overview of admission, the enrollment process, financial aid options, applying for financial aid, and student support services available at JCC.
