Administrative Professionals Seminar to be held on April 23

In honor of National Administrative Professionals Week, Jefferson Community College (JCC) Continuing Education Division will hold an administrative professional’s seminar entitled Communication Climate on Thursday, April 23. Attendees will convene in the Walker Instructional Dining Room, McVean Center, at 12:00 p.m.

In this 3-hour seminar, attendees will explore how they play a role in creating and/or changing the climate in their workplace. Factors such as power, supportive verbal and nonverbal communication, and response behaviors will be discussed. Rosemary Deusser-Jensen, professor of speech and communication at JCC, will be presenting. Deusser-Jensen holds a bachelor’s degree from Villa Maria College and a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. In 1998, she received the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The seminar will be informative with immediate benefits, yet inspirational and enjoyable!

The cost to attend the seminar is $50 and includes lunch. Companies sending more than one employee are entitled to a $5 discount per person. Registration deadline is 12:00 p.m. on April 16.
