JCC to offer Tuition Free Reading Courses

Jefferson Community College (JCC) is offering a great opportunity this summer for anyone, college bound or not, who would like to improve their reading skills! Community members are invited to take Fundamentals of Reading (CLS 090) and Critical Reading (CLS 099) tuition free. The only cost is for textbooks. Both courses run 4-weeks and are credit bearing.

JCC’s fundamentals of reading course covers basic reading and thinking strategies to improve reading comprehension skills. Classes meet June 1 through June 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on JCC’s campus in Watertown.

Students who take the college’s critical reading course will learn how to improve their skills in reading comprehension, critical reading and thinking strategies. Classes meet July 6 through July 31 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on JCC’s campus in Watertown.

Space is limited. Early registration is recommended! To register for a JCC tuition free reading course or for more information, call the JCC Advising Center at 315-786-2271.
