JCC and SUNY Cobleskill Sign Transfer Agreement for Agri-Business Program

Jefferson Community College (JCC) is pleased to announce an articulation agreement with the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill that will allow for virtually seamless transfer from Jefferson Community College to SUNY Cobleskill.  By matching coursework between SUNY Cobleskill and Jefferson, the agreement is designed to help students enrolled in Jefferson’s Agri-Business associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree program make a smooth and seamless transition to Cobleskill’s Agricultural Business Management bachelor’s in technology (B.T.) program.

“Jefferson’s partnership with SUNY Cobleskill provides an outstanding transfer pathway for Jefferson students who want to continue their education in an agriculture management field of study,” said Thomas J. Finch, vice president for academic affairs at Jefferson.  Jefferson agri-business graduates with a minimum GPA of 2.25 will be guaranteed admission to SUNY Cobleskill with full junior status. 

Jefferson’s agri-business degree was announced in February and applications are currently being accepted to enroll in the program for the Fall 2015 semester. Classes begin August 31, 2015.  The Agri-Business degree program is designed to prepare students for entry level positions in a variety of agri-business related private businesses and governmental agencies. Major emphasis is placed upon agri-business operations, marketing, sales and management of agricultural products.  JCC’s program offers classroom instruction and laboratory exercises coupled with a supervised internship experience to prepare students for employment.
