Job Training Event - From College to Career - to be held April 25 for JCC Alumni

Jefferson Community College (JCC) will co-host From College to Career on Monday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 6-002, Jules Center (Building 6). From College to Career is a 3-hour job skills training program open to all Jefferson alumni, but primarily intended for recent JCC graduates (Class of 2015 and 2016) as well as alumni seeking employment or a career change. Jefferson alumni who register by April 11, 2016 will be entered for a prize drawing. 

Linda Mellen O’Connor, director of human resources at Transitional Living Services, is the keynote speaker. The keynote address will outline what employers look for in a job candidate who holds an associate’s degree. Job seekers won’t want to miss this event where they can garner resume writing tips, knowledge about preparing for a job interview particularly relating to the employer’s needs, social media do’s and don’ts, and key pointers about creating business connections.

Representatives of The WorkPlace, JCC Alumni Association, and JCC Career Planning and Job Placement Services will be present to answer questions and create awareness of services available to Jefferson alumni. The JCC Alumni Association offers free membership to all Jefferson graduates and will assist in enrolling new members.
