Elizabeth C. Fipps Appointed to the JCC Board of Trustees
New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has appointed Elizabeth C. Fipps, of Watertown, to the Jefferson Community College (JCC) Board of Trustees, effective April 22, 2016. Fipps is the Vice President for Foundation and Community Services at Samaritan Medical Center.
Fipps' career started in the banking world and during her 24-year tenure with HSBC Bank USA, she rose to ranks of the Senior Vice President and District Executive in Watertown. In May 2011, Fipps joined Samaritan Medical Center in her current role with the Foundation and Community Services. Her leadership is instrumental to the healthcare system by fostering relationships with donors and stakeholders while ensuring positive patient and resident engagement.
Fipps is active in many community organizations and, in particular, with those connected to Fort Drum. She is a member and past chair of the Board for the Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization (FDLRO) and active member and past Chapter President of the Northern New York – Fort Drum Chapter of the Association of the United States Army. She previously co-chaired Drum 2020, FDRLO’s Base Realignment and Closure Task Force. In addition, she has served on numerous Boards in the community such as United Way, Hospice Foundation of Jefferson County and the Development Authority of the North Country.
In 2003, Fipps received the Israel A. Shapiro Citizenship Award and, in 2005, she received the prestigious Athena Award. In addition, she has been awarded the Secretary of the Army Public Service Award presented by the Secretary of the Army and the Commander’s Award for Public Services presented by the Commanding General, 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum. She holds a bachelor of science in business management from Rochester Institute of Technology, holds the Series 7, 9, 10, and 65 Securities Licenses and is a Jefferson Leadership Institute graduate.
Fipps' appointment fills the expired term of Doris G. McLallen.
