Register Now to Study International Wine Market in Hungary & Austria

During spring 2017 semester, Jefferson Community College (JCC) is offering International Wine Market, a 3-college credit bearing course with a built-in study abroad component with focus on foreign agriculture, wineries, and business. Instruction consists of a combination of in-seat (face-to-face) attendance and online activities plus a 2-week structured educational trip to five cities in Hungary and Austria. Anyone may register to take JCC’s International Wine Market course. The deadline to register is January 25, 2017.

Students in the International Wine Market course will experience the culture, food and wine of Austria and Hungary as well as examine wine business and economic issues, business practices related to marketing a winery including brand name selection, registration, labeling, exporting and importing. Other areas of study include wine tasting protocol, wine and food pairing, and styles of wine and grape varieties.

The course begins on March 20, 2017. Students will study abroad in Hungary and Austria from May 22, 2017 through June 4, 2017.

The cost to travel abroad is $3000 in addition to regular college tuition and fees. A down payment of $500 is required by February 3, 2017. Financial aid remaining after payment of tuition and fees may be used towards the cost of the trip.  Financial aid, including student loan eligibility, varies from student to student and is determined based on federal and state aid applications.
