JCC to Present Women's History Month Speaker in March

With March being women’s history month, Jefferson Community College (JCC) social science department will present guest speaker Henrietta Jordan on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 and the community is invited to attend. Jordan will present “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA): What Repeal and Replacement of the ACA Means for Women and Their Families” at 7:00 p.m. in Room 6-002, Jules Center. The program will also be presented Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. in Room 5-105, Gregor Building.  Admission is free.

Jordan, formerly of Middlesex, Vermont, is the former executive director of the Vermont Coalition on Disability Rights, founding chairperson of the Vermont Victims Compensation Board, Vermont legislative director for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, executive director of the Vermont Children's Forum, and former executive director of the Vermont Center for Independent Living. During her two-year term serving in the Vermont House of Representatives, she followed health debates closely and served as primary legislative liaison for various constituencies.

Currently a resident of Keene Valley, NY, Jordan, is a consultant with Land Trust Alliance. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bennington College and a master’s degree from Antioch University.
