JCC #1 Ranked Nursing Degree Program in NYS

Jefferson Community College (JCC) nursing program is ranked #1 among all New York State nursing degree programs! Among 99 nursing programs analyzed by RegisteredNursing.org, graduates of Jefferson’s nursing program hold the highest National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rate. For the past 3 years, 100% of JCC graduates have passed the NCLEX on their first attempt.

RegisteredNursing.org analyze associate, bachelor’s and direct entry master’s nursing degree programs to help facilitate the selection process for prospective nursing students. Ranking methodology is based on current and historical NCLEX pass rates. Required for licensure, NCLEX is used by all state boards across the United States to help access a student’s competency.

Nursing students at Jefferson are taught in state-of-the-art nursing laboratories along with lecture facilities and gain increased nursing simulation laboratory time resulting in more practice time, producing optimum results. Partnerships between Jefferson and Samaritan Medical Center and Upstate Medical University provide top-notch clinical opportunities for JCC students. Jefferson is the only community college in the North Country to offer a nursing degree program in two formats, a traditional weekday format and a weekend format. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, JCC’s nursing degree program can be completed in two years.

“The nursing program at Jefferson offers an opportunity for students to graduate from a well-respected program with both NCLEX pass rates and job placement rates at 100%,” says Dr. Marie Hess, interim nursing department chair. “Our full-time faculty are master’s prepared and have extensive backgrounds and expertise in their selected fields.
