JCC & AAUW Co-host Bully Culture Workshop Mar. 3

Jefferson Community College and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will co-host Bully Culture: Understanding It and Overcoming It on Saturday, March 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Jules Center Commons.  Students, teachers and parents won’t want to miss this workshop to learn how to recognize bully behavior and learn about the necessary steps to implement change in their school.

Several prevention techniques and speakers will be showcased.  Nationally recognized speaker and co-author, Holly Kearl, will deliver the keynote on the impact of sexual harassment in grades 7–12 from the recently released research report, Crossing the Line. Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead, Assistant Professor and Co-Chair of St. Lawrence University’s Performance and Communication Arts Department, will discuss anti-bulling programming and the play, Have You Filled a Bucket Today?, based on the award-winning children’s book by Carol McCloud.

Each workshop attendee will receive “Crossing the Line: Addressing Sexual Harassment in Grades 7-12”, a DVD illustrating what the Bully Culture looks like and how to change it, and a USB flash drive with all presentation materials and additional resources.

Registration is $20 and includes lunch.  To register, visit For more information, contact Andrea Pedrick at 315-786-2236.
