Family Show at JCC to host Intl. Juggler on Feb. 21

What do ping pong balls, toilet paper and laser lights have in common?  All of them are items in a fun 3-D juggling show for youth coming to Jefferson Community College (JCC).  International juggling champion, Mark Nizer, will bring his one man act to JCC on Tuesday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. in Sturtz Theater.

Among his many accomplishments, Nizer received the Comedy Entertainer of the Year Award by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities, Collegiate Entertainer of the Year Award by the American Collegiate Talent Showcase and numerous nominations for the National Association for Campus Activities Entertainer of the Year Award as well as the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities Variety Entertainer of the Year. In 1990, Nizer won first place in the International Jugglers Association Juggling Competition and in 2000, he received the Nizer Cup, a distinguished 6 foot trophy, five times larger than that of a standard silver trophy, with gold like finish custom made for the honoree.

Nizer has been featured on MTV, Caroline’s Comedy Hour and HBO’s Just for Laughs. He has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Nealand, Barry Manilow and George Burns, to name a few. Coined the “juggler your mother warned you about,” Nizer wows his audience with a unique 3-D act that encompasses lasers, traditional and handless juggling, music, comedy, fire and so much more that pushes typical juggling standards. Parents won’t need to look long to find something entertaining for the kids during school break!

Tickets for the performance are $5 and may be purchased from the JCC Student Activities Center, Room 4-100, or by calling 786-2431. JCC students presenting SUNY ID will receive one free ticket.  Advanced ticket sales are recommended!
