Jefferson Leadership and Business Symposium

In all aspects of business, leaders play a crucial role! The Jefferson Community College annual Jefferson Leadership & Business Symposium (JLBS) will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater. Whether you are an aspiring school leader or practicing college leader or current business professional who wants to build stronger leadership skills, the Jefferson Leadership & Business Symposium is for you. Admission is free. Registration is required online at www.sunyjefferson.edu/jlbs.

The daylong seminar features break-out sessions in areas of leadership development, entrepreneurship, current job market trends, specific business industry related topics such as real estate, working in the non-profit sector, finance, auto detailing, and accounting; and more. Attendees will learn about the wide range of jobs within the business sector as well as paid and non-paid internship opportunities available locally.
“There is much to learn from great leaders,” says Dawn M. Robinson, Assistant Professor of Business and Chair of the Business Department. “The knowledge and experience they share can help businesses develop new ways to meet the vast needs of the future. The more one knows, the bigger asset he/she becomes to the company.”

Eric Minna

Delivering the keynote address at the JLBS is author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Eric Mina (left). Mina will share his inspirational story of how he conquered severe ADHD and went from spending his time at school in the principal’s office to earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Drawing from personal experience, his presentation is packed with business tactics designed to empower audience members. A performance by speed painter, Tom Varano, who bundles motivational speaking, painting and music to wow the crowd, will conclude the event.
