Jefferson Community College ranks high in helping active military and veterans earn the college credit they need. Due to our close proximity to the Fort Drum U.S. Army base, a 10-minute drive, active duty military and their families have the benefit of taking classes on our main campus including lab sciences, art, music, and culinary while stationed in the area. We are the only physical college campus within a 50 mile radius of Watertown and one of the first to partner with Fort Drum Education.
We offer many veteran services to former military personnel and their families. As a Jefferson Cannoneer you'll have access to classes and support staff at the Education Complex on Fort Drum, veterans-only tutoring services, veterans lounge, and more!
In addition to the standard forms of financial aid, if you are active duty military or a veteran you may be eligible for more financial assistance to pay for college. Jefferson is well positioned to provide assistance that will make coming to college a seamless transition.
