David J. Males, Chair 
David Males was appointed to the Board of Trustees in November 2016 by then-Governor Andrew Cuomo. He served for two terms as Vice Chair, from 2021-2023, before being elected Chair in 2023.  He currently serves as the Trustee Representative for the JCC Foundation Board of Directors. Additionally, he previously served as the Trustee representative on the Middle States Steering Committee, chaired the Academic & Educational Services Committee, and was  the Trustee Representative on the Jefferson Faculty Student Association Auxiliary Board of Directors. Trustee Males enjoyed a forty year career in the broadcast industry, retiring 2021 from the position of Vice President and General Manager of WWTI/ABC 50 in Watertown.

Cindy F. Intschert, Vice Chair

Cindy Intschert was appointed by the Jefferson County Board of Legislators to fill an unexpired term on the Board of Trustees in December 2020. She was elected Vice Chair in 2023. Trustee Intschert enjoyed a thirty-year career with the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, retiring from the position of District Attorney in 2015. She is a graduate of Jefferson Community College and was honored as a Distinguished Alumna in 2000.

Student Trustee Alessio Caruana

Alessio Caruana, Student Trustee
Member – Academic & Educational Services Committee
Alessio Caruana, an international student from Belgium, is an Individual Studies major at Jefferson and plans for a future career in psychology. He serves as a resident assistant (RA) in East Hall and is a proud member of the men’s soccer team. Furthermore, Caruana has been named to the Dean’s List every semester and is a member of Jefferson’s Tau Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In addition to his campus involvement, Caruana is bilingual, speaking both English and Dutch fluently, and he also has knowledge of Italian and French.

Maureen Aiken

Maureen Aiken, was appointed to the Board of Trustees in August 2024 by Governor Kathy Hochul. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in the Watertown City School District (WCSD). Aiken serves on the WCSD Crisis Response Committee and has held the office of secretary, vice president, and president of the Crescent Yacht Club: Junior Division. Aiken also founded the nonprofit organization A Book in Every Hand, dedicated to promoting literacy by ensuring that every first-grade student in WCSD received their own book.

Michael W. Crowley

Michael Crowley was first appointed to the Board of Trustees by the Jefferson County Board of Legislators in 2008 and was reappointed in July 2023 to his fourth term as Trustee.  He served as Chair of the Board from 2012-2014 and Vice Chair from 2010-2012. He chaired the College’s Presidential Search Committee in 2016-2017. He is a certified public accountant and principal of Crowley & Halloran CPAS, P.C. in Watertown.

Trustee Damon Draught

Damon Draught was first appointed to the Board of Trustees in December 2020 by the Jefferson County Board of Legislators to fill an unexpired term. He was reappointed to a full term in August 2021. Trustee Draught retired from the U.S. Army in 2012 after twenty years of service as a Human Resources Noncommissioned Officer, with his last assignment at Fort Drum. He is a franchisee-owner of several Dairy Queen Grill & Chill locations in New York and Rhode Island.

Elizabeth C. Fipps

Trustee Representative – Jefferson Faculty Student Association Auxiliary (JFSAA) Board of Directors

Beth Fipps was appointed to the Board of Trustees in April 2016 by then-Governor Andrew Cuomo. Trustee Fipps spent 24 years in the banking industry rising to the rank of senior vice president with HSBC. Since 2011, she has served as Vice President of Foundation and Community Services at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.

Erika Flint

Erika Flint
Member - Facilities Committee, Finance & Audit Committee
Erika Flint, was appointed to the Board of Trustees in October 2025 by Governor Kathy Hochul. Erika currently serves as Executive Director of the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization, where she leads efforts to strengthen healthcare access and coordination across the region. Prior to this role, she served as Executive Director of the Watertown Urban Mission, where she successfully led a major capital campaign and oversaw a wide range of community support programs.

Nathan P. Hunter

Nate Hunter was first appointed to the Board of Trustees in January 2015 by the Jefferson County Board of Legislators. He was reappointed to a second term in 2020. Trustee Hunter served as Vice Chair from 2016-2018 and as Chair for three terms from 2018-2021.  He co-chaired the 2022-2023 Presidential Search Committee. A certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner, Trustee Hunter is Senior Vice President and CFO of Northern Credit Union.  Trustee Hunter is a graduate of Jefferson and received the Rising Star Award from the Alumni Association in 2014.

Stephen Todd

Steve Todd was appointed to the Board of Trustees by the Jefferson County Board of Legislators in November 2022.  He served as a member of the 2022-2023 Presidential Search Committee. Trustee Todd is a former teacher and principal in the Watertown City School District, and served as the District Superintendent and CEO of the Jefferson-Lewis- Hamilton-Herkimer-Oneida Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) from 2014 until his retirement in 2025.
