Program Description
A notary public of the common law is a public officer constituted by law to serve
the public in non-contentious matters usually concerned with general financial transactions,
estates, deeds, powers-of-attorney, and foreign and international business. This course
prepares you to be a notary public. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the authority,
duties and responsibilities of the Notary Public Office. Topics include avoiding conflicts
of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging proper fees, handling special
situations, when to defer to an attorney, and minimizing legal liability. An 80-question
practice exam is included, exam voucher is not included.
English Language Proficiency Requirement
To be successful in this program, students must be proficient in the English language, as all instruction, course materials, and assessments are conducted in English.
