Alessio Caruana named Jefferson Community College Athlete of the Week

Sophomore midfielder, Alessio Caruana of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s soccer team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending October 12, 2025.

Caruana, a 2023 graduate of Stedelijke Humaniora Dilsen, Belgium, is majoring in Individual Studies at Jefferson. Alessio’s fine form continued against Clinton Community College in the Cannoneers away match on Saturday. Lessi, #10, who has scored or assisted in all 3 matches he’s played since returning from injury, was selected as the player of the match for his performance against Clinton. Coming off the bench Alessio brought a sense composure and attacking threat to the team. After creating multiple chances throughout the first half his hard work and creativity were rewarded with an assist, to teammate Jacob Childs after just a minute of the second half restart. He put in a great performance and will be an essential part of the Cannoneers remaining matches.
