JCC Welcomes Four New Members to Alumni Advisory Council

The Alumni Advisory Council Jefferson Community College (JCC)  has welcomed four alumni as new members. They are Heather Gill, of Plessis, Class of 2017, Laura D. McKenna, of Watertown, Class of 2021, Emily E. Green, of Evans Mills, Class of 2012, and Bryan R. Olson, of Redwood, Class of 2011. 

Gill is founder, owner, and operator of SnapShots Photo Booth, LLC, and Signtech. She brings a wealth of experience to the council having served in both positions as director and ambassador for North Country chambers of commerce, demonstrating her expertise in driving organizational growth and representing the business community. 

As a student, McKenna actively engaged in the College’s TRIO Strategies To Achieve Results (STAR) program and Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) and demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, leading to her induction into the esteemed Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for 2-year colleges. With unwavering passion, she spearheaded and executed a donation campaign to collect essential provisions for underprivileged North Country children in foster care. 

Green is co-owner and manager of The Scrub Hub, Watertown, established in 2013. After graduating from Jefferson, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business from SUNY Cortland and graduated with Cum Laude distinction. Green received the prestigious 20 Under 40 Award from Northern New York Business magazine presented each year to people who exemplify what it means to be a young leader in the North Country.   

After graduating from JCC, Olson earned a bachelor of business administration degree from Niagara University and graduated with Magna Cum Laude distinction. In 2013, he joined Bowers & Company CPA’s as a senior accountant and then advanced in 2018 to audit supervisor. In 2020, he joined the Thousand Island Bridge Authority where he is currently employed as the manager of finance. In the community, he volunteers with the Redwood Fire Department and Clayton Opera House. 

The JCC Alumni Advisory Council provides program and development support to the JCC Foundation and works to establish enduring connections between JCC graduates and the campus community. The Council offers advice, insights, and guidance to help support the College mission: Educate, Inspire and Empower. New advisory council members augment the current roster - Mariya Clemons, ‘02/’05, Warren Fargo, ‘01/’03, Jerry Flanders, ’66, Philip James, ’14, MaryLu Moriarty, ’81, Brian Peck, ’98, Marc Thomas, ’01, and Adrienne Demiceli, ’01. 

Touting a vast network of over 25,000 accomplished alumni, the JCC Alumni Association eagerly anticipates hearing about alumni triumphs! Alumni are invited to complete the Keep in Touch form on the College's website to maintain connection and share professional and personal milestones and celebrations.
