Madison N. Bigelow Named JCC Athlete of the Week

Sophomore outside hitter, Madison N. Bigelow, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) volleyball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending October 20, 2024.  

Madison, a 2023 graduate of Indian River Central School, is majoring in Natural Sciences at Jefferson. This past week, Bigelow showcased her extraordinary athletic prowess and leadership skills with impressive stats including 20 kills, 12 service aces, and 18 digs, demonstrating her versatility and dominance on the court.

In the match against SUNY Broome, Madison began the first set by serving an incredible 14 straight points and 5 service aces, propelling her team to a commanding 14-0 lead that culminated in a 3-0 victory. Her performance didn't stop there, Madison continued to lead her team to victory with wins over SUNY Broome and Corning Community College (CCC) on Saturday, followed by another triumph over CCC on Sophomore Day.

As a team captain, Madison has proven she knows how to win at the crucial moments of the season, inspiring her teammates and setting a high standard of excellence. Her outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication make her a great teammate.
