Isiah Murphy Named Athlete of the Week

Freshman point guard, Isiah Murphy, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s basketball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending December 8, 2019. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions and Under Armour.
Isiah, a 2019 graduate of Dr. Susan S. McKinney Secondary School of Arts, Brooklyn, NY, is majoring in Physical Education at Jefferson. Murphy’s accomplishments on the court this past week include helping lead Jefferson to two wins versus North Country Community College and Clinton Community College and is the big reason the Cannoneers have won seven consecutive games. It is not often that an athlete can change a game the way that Isiah does with his hustle, desire, and attitude! He epitomizes the term “team player” and will do whatever it takes to advance his team. He can get to the basket or find an open man on the break and start the Cannoneers' offense with a blink of an eye. Murphy is very positive on and off the court and a true team leader at the point guard position. Currently Isiah is the second highest assist leader in National Junior College Athlete Association Region III. It is the intangibles that make him a productive and positive part of this current edition of JCC Cannoneer Men’s Basketball.
