David Nikolayenko Named Athlete of the Week

Sophomore shortstop, David V. Nikolayenko, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) baseball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending April 2, 2023.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Balanced Nutrition. 

David, a 2021 graduate of Woodford County High School, Versailles, KY, is majoring in Criminal Justice at Jefferson. Nikolayenko’s accomplishments at the plate, and on the field, this past week included collecting 9 hits, slugging 2 home runs in game 2 of Sunday’s double-header sweep at SUNY Adirondack, 11 total RBI’s, and 4 stolen bases. David has also provided lockdown defense at shortstop with 21 assists, 8 putouts, with only 1 error. He has been a consistent leader and top-notch teammate in the start of the season for the Cannoneers.
