Stokely and Schaefer Named NJCAA Region 3 and JCC Co-Athletes of the Week

Freshman forward, Samantha Stokely of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s soccer team, and sophomore midfielder, Tim Schaefer, of the JCC men’s soccer team, were named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 3 and JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending September 1, 2024.  

Stokely, a 2024 graduate of Copenhagen Central School, is majoring in Natural Sciences/Allied Health at Jefferson.  Samantha’s accomplishments on the pitch this past week include starting her collegiate career with a hattrick versus Hudson Valley Community College and added two more goals in a game versus SUNY Broome  Community College and Corning Community College. In the three matches this week she had a total of 7 goals and 1 assist.

Schaefer, a 2023 graduate of Kaiserin Augusta Schule, Germany, is majoring in Sports Management at Jefferson. Tim’s accomplishments on the pitch this past week include igniting a 4-3 comeback win in the Cannoneers' home opener versus Hudson Valley Community College, scoring 2 goals and adding 1 assist.  He then provided 3 assists in the following match in their win versus SUNY Broome Community College.
