Tobias N. Lau Named JCC Athlete of the Week
Sophomore goalie, Tobias N. Lau, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s soccer team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending September 22, 2024.
Tobias, a 2023 graduate of Gymnasium Ricarda-Huch Schule, Germany, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. Lau's outstanding efforts in goal last week, facing off against the #5 nationally ranked Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) and #2 Herkimer College, truly deserve recognition.
MVCC and Herkimer both were relentless in attack, but Tobias rose to the occasion, saving the Cannoneers almost 40 times across the 2 matches. His shot stopping was incredible and kept the games respectable despite Jefferson being outmatched.
Tobi consistently works hard, trains well, and delivers these performances. Though we may be accustomed to his excellence, he certainly deserves recognition for delivering two incredible back-to-back performances.
