Published: May 29, 2024

Jefferson Community College (JCC) will hold an Education Apprenticeship Roundtable on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Walker Instructional Dining Room, McVean Student Center (Building 4). In collaboration with the New York State Department of Labor and the State University of New York (SUNY) Apprenticeship Program, JCC will provide information about creating registered apprenticeship programs and available grant funding. This initiative is aimed at training and retaining employees for employers in education industries. Register by June 18, 2024, to join the roundtable discussion.

Jefferson offers a comprehensive range of academic and workforce development training programs, fostering strong partnerships with employers, and actively engaging in community initiatives. With a commitment to student success and regional economic development, JCC continues to be a leading educational institution in Northern New York. The primary objective of the roundtable is to foster meaningful discussions and identify workforce needs and skill gaps within the region that can be effectively addressed through registered apprenticeship programs.

"With our extensive expertise in education and workforce development, JCC is uniquely positioned to facilitate dialogue between employers, government agencies, and educational institutions," says Dr. Megan A. Stadler, Associate Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. "We believe that Registered Apprenticeships offer a valuable pathway for individuals to gain practical skills while meeting the evolving demands of the job market."

"We are committed to forging lasting partnerships that support the growth and success of Registered Apprenticeships in our community," added Joanna Brislan, Director of Community Services. "Together with our partners, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today's workforce."
