Take Back The Night Rally & Healing Drum Circle To Be Held October 27
Published: October 17, 2022
On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Jefferson Community College (JCC) will host its annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) event at 5:00 p.m. in the Jules Center Commons (Building 6). The event is open to the public.
An internationally observed event to raise awareness of violence against women and promote healthy relationships, TBTN at JCC will feature a cardboard testimony, resource fair and poster making, a call to stand in solidarity, a march around campus (indoors) and a healing drum circle comprised of roughly 20 tribal drums hosted by the Anchor Recovery Center. A string of student decorated t-shirts bearing personal messages that speak to violence against women, known as the Clothesline Project, will be on display.
Register online to attend. For more information about TBTN, contact Destiny Walker, JCC Campus Advocate, Victims Assistance Center, at dwalker@sunyjefferson.edu or call 315-779-0464.
