Abigail Rudd Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Sophomore setter, Abigail Rudd of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) volleyball team, was named JCC athlete of the week, for the week ending September 20, 2026. Jefferson’s Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Victory Promotions.

Rudd, 2025 graduate from South Jefferson Central School, is majoring in Humanities and Social Sciences at Jefferson. Abby delivered an exceptional week for the Lady Cannoneers, once again proving why she is the heartbeat of Jefferson’s offense and a steady force in every match. As the team’s setter, she is on the floor every set, every point, and every moment, guiding the tempo, directing the attack, and elevating the play of everyone around her.

Across a demanding 2–1 week that included two grueling five set battles, Abby’s leadership and consistency shone brightly. Her ability to read the court and distribute the ball allowed Jefferson’s offense to flourish, including helping her outside hitter set a single match record for kills this week. Her presence is felt well beyond the stat sheet, she is a captain who leads by example, never backs down from pressure, and takes care of her teammates both on and off the court.
