Emily E. Birmingham and Kacy A. Lennox Named Co-Athletes of the Week
Published: May 01, 2024
Sophomore pitcher, Emily E. Birmingham of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) softball team, and sophomore golfer, Kacy A. Lennox, of the Jefferson Community College golf team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending April 28, 2024. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour.
Emily, a 2022 graduate of Pulaski High School, is majoring in Sports Management at Jefferson. Birmingham’s accomplishments on the field and mound this past week included being one of the most consistent hitters in the lineup, always hitting the ball hard. She hit 5 doubles and had 12 RBIs. Additionally, Emily has been a leader in the circle adding to her win total on the year (8) striking out 26 batters. Not only does she lead the pitching staff in wins, but she also leads the offense in RBIs with 30.
Kacy, a 2022 graduate of General Brown High School, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. Lennox’s accomplishments on the course this past week included shooting a 77 (his best score this season), helping the Cannoneers take the Jamestown Invitational. The next day at Niagara, Kacy would be our medalist on a windy and rainy day, shooting an 82 in tough conditions to help the Cannoneers to a second-place finish. The Cannoneers finished second or first all season long and Kacy has been a major factor in the Cannoneer's success. He is currently averaging an 84 after 6 competitions and should be ranked in the top 10 in Region III after this past weekend. He has been a steady performer for Jefferson golf the last two seasons, consistently being one of their top scorers.
