Cameron Ruiz Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Sophomore guard, Cameron X. Ruiz of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s basketball
team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending January 24, 2026.
Ruiz, a 2024 graduate of New Design High School, is majoring in Individual Studies
at Jefferson. This past week, Cameron played a pivotal role in helping the Cannoneers
snap their losing skid against Finger Lakes Community College, turning in the best
performance of his career with 18 points and five assists. Cameron consistently gives
100 percent, demonstrating his determination and dedication to the Cannoneer program.
He continues to improve each day and strives to be his best, both on and off the court.
