Isabella Morrell Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Freshman defense, Isabella S. Morrell of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) volleyball team, was named JCC athlete of the week, for the week ending October 11, 2026.  Jefferson’s Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Victory Promotions.

Morrell, 2026 graduate of West Genesee High School, is majoring in Criminal Justice at Jefferson.  This past week Isabella provided a valuable spark from the service line and steady defensive support for the Lady Cannoneers, helping Jefferson finish the weekend 3–1. Her aggressive serving and back-row contributions helped create scoring opportunities and keep Jefferson’s offense in play.

Across four matches, Isabella recorded 11 service aces and 21 digs, delivering multiple aces in every match. She opened the weekend with three aces against Holyoke, then followed with four aces and seven digs against Monroe Bronx to help secure Jefferson’s second sweep of the day.

On Sunday, Isabella added two aces and three digs against Atlanta Cape before finishing with two aces and a weekend-high eight digs against #5 DuPage. Her willingness to pursue the ball and serve aggressively gave Jefferson valuable contributions throughout the weekend.

Isabella’s performance highlights the impact a defensive specialist can make through serving pressure and back-row effort. She contributed to Jefferson’s success by creating points at the service line and extending rallies for her teammates.
