Sarah Johnson & Samuel Arrigo Named JCC Co-Athletes of the Week

Freshman golfer, Samuel J. Arrigo, of the Jefferson Community College golf team and sophomore pitcher, Sarah M. Johnson, of the JCC softball team were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending April 11, 2021.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour and Victory Promotions.

Samuel, a 2020 graduate of South Lewis Central School, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. Arrigo’s accomplishments on the course this past week include leading the Cannoneers to a Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) Championship and Tompkins Cortland Panther Golf Invitational championship! Sam, demonstrating strong athletic potential for the sport, shot a 78 to finish second overall and claim MSAC Medalist honors in his first competition as a member of the Jefferson golf team.

Sarah, a 2019 graduate of Lafargeville Central School, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. Johnson’s accomplishments at the plate this past week include going 7-15, scoring two runs and seven RBI’s. Sarah pitched fourteen 2/3 innings giving up eight hits and allowing six runs in four games.

    The Center for Community Studies at Jefferson Community College (JCC) completed a first-of-its-kind study on North Country residents' health and healthcare experiences, with special emphasis on women's health and the impacts of adverse childhood experiences. The Center partnered with faculty of Gender and Women's Studies at SUNY Plattsburgh, to design and complete the study of adults in Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Essex, and Clinton counties. In the study, a total of 2,991 adult residents were surveyed from the five-county region between February 3-14, 2026.
