Joshua S. Newman Named Athlete of the Week

Sophomore forward, Joshua S. Newman, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s basketball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending February 23, 2020. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions and Under Armour.
Joshua, a 2017 graduate of South Lewis High School, is majoring in Childhood Education at Jefferson. Newman’s accomplishments on the court this past week include scoring 23 points and adding 17 rebounds for the win versus SUNY Broome in his last regular season game. In addition, he had a steady game versus Cayuga Community College in the sub-regional game with 12 points and another double/double in rebounds. Josh is a quiet leader who does his job on the court along with his duties as resident assistant (RA) at East Hall. He is a very unselfish player who thinks about team first and himself second. You don’t always see the impact Josh has on a game by his points, but when you look at the stat sheet he is consistently doing his job.
