Kaitlyn Pownall Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Sophomore outside hitter, Kaitlyn J. Pownall of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) volleyball team, was named JCC athlete of the week, for the week ending September 13, 2026. Jefferson’s Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Victory Promotions.
Pownall, 2025 graduate from Paul V. Moore High School, is majoring in Individual Studies at Jefferson. Kaitlyn continues to prove why she is one of the conference’s most dominant offensive forces, turning in another exceptional week for the Lady Cannoneers. Across four matches, Katie delivered an outstanding 71 kills, 21 digs, and 3 blocks, once again showcasing her ability to uplift her team in every phase of the game.
Her impact was felt most during Jefferson’s five set battle against Hudson Valley, where she became the undeniable go to option. Possessing a combination of power, precision, and court awareness, Katie repeatedly broke through the opponent’s defense, setting a tone of confidence and resilience for her squad.
Throughout the weekend, she never wavered. Her relentless motor and competitive fire helped Jefferson secure two key victories, keeping the team on track and pushing their momentum forward.
Katie’s consistency, leadership, and high-level performance make her a standout choice for Athlete of the Week.
