LaKaiya B. Butcher Named Athlete of the Week

Freshman guard, LaKaiya B. Butcher, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s basketball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending January 28, 2024.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions. 

LaKaiya, a 2023 graduate of Massaponax High School, Fredericksburg, Virginia, is majoring in Individual Studies at Jefferson. This past week Butcher scored 20 points and secured 8 rebounds and 7 assists in a victory against Division II, Monroe Community College. As the floor leader, Lakaiya led the Lady Cannoneers with a home win against defending Region III Champions, Fulton Montgomery Community College, with 8 points and 12 rebounds.
