Madelyn Ferris Named JCC Athlete of the Week
Published: December 09, 2025
Freshman guard/forward, Madelyn Ferris of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s
basketball team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending December 8,
2025.
Ferris, a 2025 graduate of General Brown Central School, is majoring in Business Administration
at Jefferson. Ferris turned in an impressive week for the Lady Cannoneers, notching
her third and fourth double-doubles of the season as Jefferson went 1–1 against tough
opponents. In the home opener versus Tompkins Cortland Community College, Ferris was
dominant in the paint, posting 13 points and 12 rebounds to help power Jefferson to
a convincing 79–46 victory. She followed that performance with another impressive
outing against #10 nationally ranked Fulton-Montgomery, where she once again controlled
the boards with 10 rebounds while scoring 16 points against one of the top teams in
the country.
Through consistent effort, and toughness, Ferris is averaging a remarkable 11.1 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game on the season. Her presence in the post, relentless rebounding, and growing offensive confidence have made her a key contributor to Cannoneers’ success.
