Madelyn Ferris Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week
Freshman guard/forward, Madelyn Ferris of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s
basketball team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending February 8,
2026.
Ferris, a 2025 graduate of General Brown Central School, is majoring in Business Administration
at Jefferson. Maddy has been instrumental in leading the Lady Cannoneers to a perfect
3-0 week, advancing their overall record to 16-4. She dominated the glass and controlled
the tempo of each game, recording three consecutive double-doubles while showcasing
her all-around game.
In Jefferson’s 68-56 victory over Mohawk Valley Community College, Ferris contributed
11 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, setting the tone with her physical presence
and court vision. She followed that performance with an outstanding effort in a 69-49
win over Genesee Community College, tallying 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists
while leading the Cannoneers on both ends of the floor. Maddy closed out the week
with another dominant performance in a 53-41 victory over North Country, recording
10 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists, controlling the boards and anchoring the team’s
defensive effort.

Program Focused Info Sessions to be Held Hybrid in March
Jefferson Community College (JCC) will host information sessions for select academic programs throughout March 2026. Prospective students are invited to attend either in person or virtually via Zoom.
