Madelyn Ferris Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Freshman guard/forward, Madelyn Ferris of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s basketball team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending February 8, 2026.

Ferris, a 2025 graduate of General Brown Central School, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. Maddy has been instrumental in leading the Lady Cannoneers to a perfect 3-0 week, advancing their overall record to 16-4. She dominated the glass and controlled the tempo of each game, recording three consecutive double-doubles while showcasing her all-around game.

In Jefferson’s 68-56 victory over Mohawk Valley Community College, Ferris contributed 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, setting the tone with her physical presence and court vision. She followed that performance with an outstanding effort in a 69-49 win over Genesee Community College, tallying 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists while leading the Cannoneers on both ends of the floor. Maddy closed out the week with another dominant performance in a 53-41 victory over North Country, recording 10 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists, controlling the boards and anchoring the team’s defensive effort.
