Madison A. Neukirch Named Athlete of the Week

Freshman runner, Madison A. Neukirch, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s cross country team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending October 21, 2019. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions and Under Armour.
Madison, a 2019 graduate of South Jefferson High School, is majoring in Natural Sciences at Jefferson. Neukirch’s accomplishments on the trails this past week include a seasonal best performance finishing 5th overall in the 5-kilometer Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) championship race. Madison’s performance was one of the reasons the Lady Cannoneers finished just 3 points behind the nationally ranked Red Barons of Corning Community College. She ran a seasonal best over the tough and hilly 5-kilometer course finishing with a time of 24:30 and aiding Jefferson to earning the title of MSAC Women’s Runner-ups and earned her a spot on the podium as a MSAC All-Conference runner.
