Abigail Rudd Holds a Copy of the Black River Review Featuring Her Cover Artwork Titled "Just Peachy"

The unveiling of Volume XXXVI (36) of the Jefferson Community College Black River Review (BRR), a journal of poetry, prose, and fine arts took place in May 2026. The event was a celebration of the unique writing and artistic talents of Jefferson students, faculty, staff, and alumni.  

This celebration acknowledged the participants and their contributions in both creative writing and artwork. The BRR cover art, an oil pastel and color pencil piece titled “Just Peachy,” is the work of Jefferson student, Abigail Rudd of Rodman.  

Recipients of the Outstanding Artwork Contribution Award are Rudd for her cover artwork and Caela A. Berry of Watertown for her graphite pieces titled “Watertown’s Water” and “Hiking Trip”. 

Recipients of the Outstanding Writing Contribution Award are Kirsten L. Pratt, Watertown, for her poem titled “Standing in Her Light” and fiction story titled “Where No One Hears the Cracks” and Kaylee Fields, Sackets Harbor, for her fiction work titled “Existence” and poem titled “Longing”.
