Deadline to Register for CDL Class A Training: May 8, 2026

Jefferson Community College (JCC), in partnership with The CDL Schools, will launch its next 4-week CDL Class A training program on May 18, 2026. Classes will be held on JCC’s campus Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The registration deadline is May 8, 2026.

This training is for individuals seeking to qualify for the Class A CDL Skills test. The curriculum prepares students to meet Theory and Behind the Wheel Vehicle training per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements. The curriculum is 192 hours in length and consists of three parts. The first part is 80 hours of Classroom, lab, and Learning Management System (LMS) instruction. Completion of this part leads to the ELDT Theory certification and Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). The second part is 110 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) vehicle instruction to prepare the student for FMCSA Range and Public Road ELDT proficiency requirements for the Class A CDL skills test (road test). The final portion of the program is allotted for 2 hours to complete the state Skills Test (road test). Preparation and scheduling for the CDL Skills test on a manual transmission vehicle is included. Cost of the license upgrade from Class D to Class A is not included.

Scholarships may be available for qualified applicants. Tuition is $9495. All participants must complete a DOT physical before admission and a drug test is required after obtaining the CDL permit and prior to behind-the-wheel training. The cost to upgrade from a Class D to a Class A license is not included.
