Brianna Hardwick and Robert Leyva Named JCC Co-Athletes of the Week
Sophomore catcher/infielder, Brianna R. Hardwick of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) softball team, and sophomore infielder, Robert A. Leyva, of the JCC baseball team, were named co-athletes of the week for the week ending March 23, 2025.
Hardwick, a 2023 graduate of Shaker High School, Latham, NY, is majoring in Natural Sciences at Jefferson. Brianna had an outstanding week at the plate, recording 8 hits in 17 at-bats across 8 games for a .471 batting average. She scored 7 runs, drove in 10 RBIs, and added 2 doubles and 2 home runs to her impressive performance.
Leyva, a 2023 graduate of Henry D. Perry Education Center, Coral Springs, FL, is majoring in Sports Management at Jefferson. Rob had a standout week both at the plate and in the field, helping his team secure a 4-win weekend series. He batted .500 across 17 plate appearances, driving in 5 runs, drawing 2 walks, and stealing a base. He delivered in clutch moments, hitting .500 with runners in scoring position and posting an impressive 1.160 OPS. Defensively, Leyva maintained a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and contributed to two double plays.
