As Jefferson Community College (Jefferson) prepares to launch a fresh new brand identity this summer, the Jefferson Foundation found a meaningful way to retire the college’s current logo - with warmth and heart.

The Foundation donated fleece blankets bearing the soon-to-be-retired college logo to the Victims Assistance Center (VAC) of Jefferson County and their Child Advocacy Center (CAC) program. The blankets will offer comfort to children and adults receiving critical support services.

“The alumni blanket was originally used as a way to thank and honor our alumni and friends who have supported Jefferson in the past” said Benjamin Foster, Executive Director, Jefferson Foundation. “As we embark on a new institutional brand, I am extremely happy that we could partner with the VAC and the CAC to repurpose the blankets and offer warmth, dignity, and care to members of our community who need it most.”

With a new logo and refreshed brand rolling out this summer, the college is embracing change while remaining deeply rooted in the North Country community through care and compassion.

Staff at the Victims Assistance Center say the blankets are more than just cozy, they are a small gesture that can make a big emotional impact.

“Comfort can come in many forms and sometimes, it’s as simple as something soft to hold onto,” said Amy Quonce, Executive Director, Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County. “These blankets will be given to individuals in crisis, many of whom arrive at our center with little more than the clothes they’re wearing. A warm blanket can provide not only physical comfort, but also a sense of care and security. We’re deeply grateful to the JCC Foundation for this meaningful donation.”

The Jefferson Foundation is proud to partner with this essential organization to ensure the college’s legacy of care lives on, stitched into every blanket given.

What’s next? A bold new logo and an exciting new chapter in the college’s history - coming this summer.
