Jefferson and Alfred State College Sign Transfer Agreement on December 15, 2025

Jefferson Community College (JCC) and Alfred State College (ASC) held an official signing ceremony on December 15, 2025, to commemorate a new agreement that strengthens transfer opportunities for Jefferson students pursuing careers in technology. The agreement, effective spring 2025, guarantees qualified Jefferson graduates transfer admission to Alfred State as full juniors and offers significant scholarships.

The seamless transfer pathway applies to Jefferson students completing an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Computer Information Technology or an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science. Under the agreement, students can complete any of Alfred State’s corresponding bachelor’s degree programs within five additional semesters of standard coursework.

Participating bachelor’s programs at Alfred State include Information Technology: Network Administration, Information Technology: Web Development, and Information Technology: Application Software Development.

Carey L. Goyette, Provost, Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs at Jefferson said, “This partnership reflects the strong academic foundation our technology programs provide. Jefferson is proud to offer graduates a seamless pathway to Alfred State, ensuring they can complete their bachelor’s degree on time with a clear, structured plan for success.”

Carrie Cokely, Vice President for Academic Affairs at ASC commented, “Alfred State is excited to partner with Jefferson CC to offer this opportunity to their students. We are introducing guaranteed admissions pathways into Alfred State’s bachelor’s degree programs. This means students can begin their academic journey knowing that their next step to a four-year degree is promised.”

The articulation agreement supports both institutions’ shared commitment to expanding educational access and creating a streamlined transition from associate to bachelor’s degree programs.

Cokely added, “This agreement is strengthened by guaranteed scholarships to Jefferson CC students who transfer to Alfred State. We know today’s students are financially savvy and we want to help them achieve all their academic goals.”
