Published: January 24, 2020
The Jefferson Leadership & Business Symposium (JLBS) will be held on Wednesday, March
18, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Community College (JCC) in Sturtz
Theater. Business professionals, aspiring college students, developing high school
leaders and community members are welcome to attend! The focus of this year’s event
is to educate, inspire and connect.
Delivering the keynote address is author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Eric
Mina. Mina will share his inspirational story of how he conquered severe ADHD and
went from spending his time at school in the principal’s office to earning a bachelor’s
degree in psychology. Drawing from personal experience, his presentation is packed
with business tactics designed to empower aspiring leaders and business minded students.
In addition to a keynote speaker, JLBS will feature opportunities for attendees to
engage with local businesses and learn about the North Country job market – available
jobs, breadth of positions within the business sector, how to prepare for a job search,
do’s and don’ts of social media and more. A perk for college students, they will have
the opportunity to learn about local paid and unpaid internships! Furthermore, a performance
by speed painter, Tom Varano, will take place. Combining motivational speaking with
paint and music, Varano inspires audience members with his ability to create suspense,
anticipation and surprise.
