Brian Peck, Class of 1998 and Jefferson County Treasurer, To Deliver Keynote at Jefferson’s 62nd Commencement Ceremony

Jefferson Community College (JCC) will hold its 62nd Commencement Ceremony for December 2025, May 2026 and August 2026 candidates for graduation on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Brian Peck (right), Class of 1998 and Jefferson County Treasurer, will deliver the keynote address.

A lifelong resident of Northern New York, Peck grew up on his family’s eighth-generation dairy farm in Champion. His deep roots in the region have shaped a strong commitment to service, leadership, and community involvement. At the age of 25, Peck founded Coughlin Printing and successfully grew the business from a single employee to a staff of 18 before transitioning into public service. His career in government includes serving as Director of Operations for State Senator Patty Ritchie, longtime Chief of Staff to State Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush, and Town Supervisor for the Town of Champion. Peck is a Second Lieutenant in the New York Guard and serves as the Executive Officer for the 56th Company. Earlier in his career, Peck served as Associate Dean at Davis College, Binghamton, where he also taught ethics. He supports community emergency response efforts as a ham radio operator with the Jefferson County Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) Team and volunteers extensively, including serving on the Jefferson Foundation Board and its finance subcommittee. His service extends internationally as well. He has taught English as a second language in China and helped build a school in Bolivia. 

Peck holds an associate degree from Jefferson, a bachelor’s in earth science from SUNY Brockport, and a master’s in counseling from Summit University.

The Commencement Ceremony will take place in the McVean Student Center Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. and will be video-streamed on the College’s website beginning at 6:45 p.m. Commencement information for graduates and guests is available online. Inquiries may be directed to (315) 786-2404.
