Brooke E. Wiley (right), Dexter, has been elected by the student body at Jefferson Community College (JCC) to serve as student trustee on the JCC Board of Trustees for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Wiley is pursuing a degree in Natural Sciences and anticipates graduating from Jefferson in 2027. She has earned President's List honors while maintaining a 3.7 grade point average. An active campus leader, she is a member of Jefferson's Tau Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the European Excursion Club, and the women's basketball team. As a student-athlete, she has received National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Region III All-Conference and All-Region honors. Beyond campus, Wiley volunteers with Key Club community service projects and the Watertown Elks Lodge. She is also a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard and serves as Chief Lifeguard at Westcott Beach State Park.

“I sought the student trustee position because I wanted the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for the student body by representing my peers, advocating for their needs, and strengthening the connection between students and college leadership,” says Wiley. “Serving as student trustee will provide valuable leadership experience while giving me a deeper understanding of how the college operates. It will strengthen my communication and decision-making skills, provide opportunities to work with college leaders, and become a more effective advocate for students.”

Her first board meeting is July 8, 2026.
