Fall 2021 Allied Health Career Training / MyCAA Funding Accepted

Register online now for Jefferson Community College (JCC) precertification allied health training. Training is open to anyone interested in beginning or advancing their career as clinical medical assistants, phlebotomy technicians, pharmacy technicians or medical billing and coding professionals. Participants who successfully complete the allied health programs are eligible to sit for the corresponding national certification exam. Clinical Medical Assistant
This program meets the necessary requirements for students to take the National Healthcareer
Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistance (CCMA) national exam and the
National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Clinical Medical Assistant (CMAC) exam.
Training consists of 140 classroom hours and 160 clinical hours (externship).
Date: September 7, 2021 through February 10, 2022
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Cost: $2,399 (textbooks included)
Location: Lowville, Lewis County Education Center
Entry-Level Phlebotomy Technician
Students who complete this program will have the opportunity to take the National
Healthcareer Association (NHA) Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam and the National Workforce
Career Association (NWCA) Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam. Training consists of 90
hours and a clinical externship.
Date: September 14, 2021 through December 21, 2021
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Cost: $1,599 (textbooks includes)
Location: JCC
Pharmacy Technician
This program meets the necessary requirements for students to take the Pharmacy Technician
Certified Board (PTCB) exam and the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Pharmacy
Technician (PTAC) exam. Training consists of 50 hours with a clinical externship.
Date: September 20, 2021 through November 10, 2021
Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Cost: $999 (textbooks included)
Location: JCC
Medical Billing and Coding – to be offered in Spring 2022
This program prepares students for a career in medical billing and coding. Topics
include how to manually submit claims, how to abstract information from a patient’s
record, how to apply coding guidelines, how to successfully manage the medical business
office, and coding. Training consists of 140 hours of classroom lecture. Upon completion,
