2026-2027 Military Friendly Designations

Jefferson Community College (JCC) earned 2026-2027 Military Friendly® Schools Designation recognized as Military Friendly and Military Spouse Friendly School by VIQTORY, publisher of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse® magazines. The College first earned the Military Friendly® designation in 2011 and received its first Military Spouse Friendly® School designation in 2022. This recognition highlights Jefferson’s long-standing commitment to providing sustainable and meaningful education pathways for service members, veterans, and their families.

Daniel J. Dupee, II, College President, says, “We’re honored to earn the distinctions of Military Friendly and Military Spouse Friendly School once again. Supporting those who serve, both in uniform and on the home front, is not just part of our mission, it’s part of who we are. These recognitions affirm our continued commitment to creating an inclusive, flexible, and supportive educational environment for military-connected students.”

Joanna Brislan, Director of Military Enrollment and Workforce Solutions, says, “Jefferson’s continued recognition as a Military Friendly and Military Spouse Friendly School reflects the strength of our partnership with Fort Drum and our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of military‑affiliated students. We are dedicated to providing accessible pathways, responsive support services, and meaningful programs that empower service members, veterans, and their families to reach their educational and career goals.”

“At Jefferson, our mission is to Educate, Inspire, and Empower our students, and that includes the dedicated spouses and families who serve alongside our nation’s military,” adds President Dupee. “We recognize the unique challenges military spouses face in pursuing higher education. Whether they are starting fresh or continuing their academic journey through the demands of military life, we’re here to ensure they have the support, resources, and opportunities needed to succeed, wherever their path leads.”

Military Friendly® ratings are based on methodology criteria, and weightings in consultation with the Military Friendly® Advisory Council, a group of independent leaders in the military community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score, public data, and an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet and exceed thresholds for student recruitment, retention, academic progress, graduation rates, career placement, and support services for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.

Military Friendly® is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business. Military Friendly® is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Defense or the federal government. The 2026 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the April issue of G.I. Jobs® Magazine and is available online
