Kaitlyn J. Pownall named Jefferson Community College Athlete of the Week

Kaitlyn PownallFreshman outside hitter/middle blocker, Kaitlyn J. Pownall of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) volleyball team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending September 21, 2025.

Pownall, a 2025 graduate of Paul V Moore High School, is majoring in Allied Health and Biological Sciences at Jefferson. Kaitlyn’s accomplishments on the court this past week included being an unstoppable force for the Lady Cannoneers, showcasing her dominance on both sides of the ball in a demanding three-match stretch. Facing two sweeps against SUNY Broome Community College and SUNY Adirondack, along with a hard-fought battle against Hudson Valley Community College, Pownall proved she is a competitor who thrives under pressure and refuses to back down.
Her versatility was on full display as she delivered points in every way possible, attacking at the net, digging in the back row, serving with precision, and even stepping up on the block. Kaitlyn’s relentless energy and competitive fire set the tone for her teammates, inspiring the Lady Cannoneers to play with confidence and grit.
 
Over the week, Kaitlyn racked up 27 kills, 2 service aces, 1 assist, a team-leading 30 digs, and 3 blocks—a stat line that highlights her all-around impact and unmatched work ethic. Every point she played was fueled by focus, determination, and a drive to win.
 
Kaitlyn’s ability to elevate her game in every facet makes her a true difference-maker and a rising star for the Cannoneers. Her passion and toughness make her a deserving nominee for Athlete of the Week.
