JCC Awards College Credit for Professional/Military Experience - Spring 2026 Registration Ongoing

Published: December 02, 2025

Jefferson Community College (JCC) offers students the opportunity to reduce both the time and cost required to complete a degree through prior learning credit. Students with professional or military experience may receive credit toward degree completion through Jefferson’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). Full-semester and early session (8-week) classes begin January 20, 2026. Registration is ongoing!

JCC also provides flexible scheduling options through a wide range of online, HyFlex (attend in person one day and online the next), and in-seat classes. Late session (8-week) classes begin March 16, 2026.

Adult learners who have been away from Jefferson for three years or more and accumulated a grade point average below a 2.0 may apply for academic forgiveness to wipe the slate clean and start fresh.

Childcare is available on campus for children ages 18 months to 5 years at Jefferson’s Campus Care, a New York State licensed facility through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Additionally, Campus Care holds a 4-star rating in the state’s Quality Rating and Improvement System. Financial aid may be applied toward childcare fees.

Students returning to JCC after an absence and transfer students are encouraged to contact Enrollment Services at (315) 786-2347 early to begin the free application process. Military students should contact the JCC office on Fort Drum at (315) 786-6566 for admission and registration assistance. Current students continuing after the fall 2025 semester should register via MyJCC.
