Spring 2023 Career Training and Professional Growth Workshop Schedule Released

Jefferson Community College (JCC) career training and professional growth workshops will positively impact one’s career growth and add value to a resume. The College’s hands-on allied health training prepares individuals to meet qualifications and sit for nationally recognized certification exams. Individuals with an interest in getting certified in human resources, computer information technology, cybersecurity, and web development will also find JCC’s career preparation programs beneficial. Workshops are held in-person on JCC’s campus, at the Lewis County JCC Education Center, and at Fort Drum. Additionally, JCC offers a wide variety of career preparation workshops online.    

MyCAA, a Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program offered by the Department of Defense, is accepted. Eligibility for MyCAA includes spouses of active duty Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine service members on Title 10 orders within paygrades E1-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O2. If your spouse is in the National Guard or is an AGR Member, they must be on federal Title 10 active duty orders.

Career Training

SHRM-CP/SRHM-SCP Certification Preparation Course (JCC)
This entire preparation course is considered to be an excellent study basis for the SHRM-CP/SCP exam.

Clinical Medical Assistant (Fort Drum, Clark Hall) 
This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination and the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Clinical Medical Assistant (CMAC) Exam.
140 classroom hours plus 160 hours clinical time

Dental Assistant (Lewis County JCC Education Center, Lowville)
Upon completion of this workshop, learners will have the opportunity to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam, the leading national/industry-recognized certification exam.
60 classroom hours plus 40 hours of clinical externship

This course is designed to fully prepare students to sit for and pass the CompTIA A+ (Core 1 and Core 2) certification exams.

This program meets the necessary requirements to take the Pharmacy Technician Certified Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) exam and the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Pharmacy Technician (PTAC) Exam.
